![]() And I'm a good fit for middle schools, high schools, and colleges, although I will speak with elementary students about writing and reading, and the life of an author, as well as with parents about the importance of reading. I also have a fun Career Day talk and I can do "virtual school visits" with your class. IT'S AN EXCHANGE OF IDEAS! I use a lot of humor in my programs and engage students in participating in the discussion. Students are always curious about what an author does, how publishing works, and if you can get rich as a writer. I can share my road to publication and the many ups and downs along the way. I'D LOVE TO SPEAK TO YOUR STUDENTS! If you're interested in a writing or revision workshop, I can do that too. By building on their ideas, I can teach them how to improve their writing by using a few simple techniques that are sure to amaze them. LEARNERS NEED ENCOURAGEMENT! Many students believe they can't write or if they do, that it's very poor quality. But anyone can learn the craft of writing if they're willing to try. So many students think that the first thing off the top of their head is their final draft. I will show they how to edit, by using one piece of writing as an example and making it fun to add detail to the work. THREE DYNAMIC PROGRAMS I have three programs and I can do one, two, or all three. I'm offering a special rate to schools in Western Washington this year and you can email me for details. MY RATES I make my rates very reasonable, starting at $300 for one presentation. I also have a full day rate (which I will negotiate) and you can call me or email me for details. |
